Dave Seward
We started holding our committee meetings at the start of this year and I ‘volunteered’ to act as the chairman. I’ve been interfacing with the architect and builder since we commissioned them at the start of 2024, so for over two years now! I am still involved in finalising the design and costs with the builder, prior to them starting the construction this spring. I am also involved in securing the finances. As well as donations from members and friends, we are looking to secure a bank loan, to cover some of the costs, which I am in the process of arranging. In my role as chairman, as well as chairing the meetings, I am looking to support each of our committee members in their new roles and I hope as many members as possible will be able to get involved in some capacity.

I have several roles within the project. Firstly I will be working closely with Dave to finalise the plans and contract with the builders. Secondly I will be the day to day liaison point with the builders, so that once work commences all communication between the builders and the Church will be through me and I will meet with the builders on site as required, but Dave will be making the decisions!. My third role will be to prepare the budget and monitor our progress to ensure that we do not overspend, without proper consultation with the building committee and Church Leaders. If you have any questions as the project progresses please do not hesitate to ask me, I will do my best to answer them. I have done a similar role in another Church project and I know that I will need a lot of prayer to fulfil this role and do it to bring Glory to God.

I’m part of the church building committee, working alongside Beth on the interior design and décor. I’d really value prayer for wisdom and discernment as we choose the most appropriate furnishings and décor at the right price—creating a space that is welcoming, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing for everyone who walks through the doors. We’re hoping the design will not only serve our church family well, but also be suitable for outreach events such as the café, helping more people from the community to feel encouraged to use the services we offer. Ultimately, we pray that through a warm and inviting environment, more people will come, encounter the church, and be led to Christ for themselves.

I’m working together with Atlanta to plan the decor and furnishings for the new building. Our hope is to create a warm and inviting space that welcomes in new visitors and benefits the various church ministries by creating a functional and cozy environment. We would love to hear from people who can help make or build furniture, paint, and collect or store furniture.

Hi, I'm Alan, and I am overseeing changes for repositioning and cabling for Video, Audio and streaming equipment. I'm very keen to hear from anyone with ideas, suggestions, etc. If there's anyone with experience in these areas, or if you would like to be involved in A/V and streaming ministry, please speak with me.

My role within the Building Committee is communication with church members and others throughout the project. I aim to keep everyone up to date through the monthly newsletters, our website, and a visual timeline displayed at church. I also want to maintain open communication and build relationships with our neighbours and those who will be directly affected by the project. We are planning an open day for Pelsall residents to come and look around, ask questions, and find out more about us. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Steve Grimsley as he applies for grants for us. We have really enjoyed reflecting on how we already serve our community as a church and the opportunities that will come with the build and beyond. Please come and find me if you have any ideas, feedback, or just want to chat! We want all members to be involved in the project, so please pray with us and engage with the committee in these exciting times.

Hello, I’m involved with the kitchen area on the new build project. This is planned to include a cafe area with a counter in our new foyer and will use our old small kitchen area and probably storeroom to support this. As a Church, we hope to use this after the build for our Sunday drinks and also to host a cafe serving drinks, cake, snacks during the week for parents passing the Church on the school run, our neighbours, toddler mums, and lots more! We want it to be a warm, welcoming space (We plan to still be keeping the large kitchen in the side hall for cooking meals etc).

As we prepare to for this exciting step in the life of our church it will be my role on the building committee to coordinate the practical side of things. Before the major work begins we have the task of preparing our church, emptying cupboards, clearing rooms and making the space ready for the project to begin. To help keep our costs down and make sure we’re using our resources wisely there will be many tasks we can tackle as a church family, so whether you have a specific trade skill, are a DIY or decorating enthusiast or just have a willing pair of hands to join us in a clear out day your help will be invaluable. If you’re able to assist or have skills to offer please reach out we would love to hear from you.

As part of the Building Committee, I’m looking after our external fundraising. I’m currently applying for a number of grants to help support the project. I’m working with Dave and Emily to put together a detailed project pack for these applications, sharing our vision, explaining what the project involves, and highlighting the ways it will benefit both our church family and the wider community. We’d really value your prayers as we seek the funding needed to bring this next stage to fruition.

My role on the Building Committee is to look at Accessibility Issues for the building project. We need to consider those with mobility/ hearing/sight/sensory issues and learning difficulties. If people have any ideas, comments or feedback on any access issues they can email me at sueworrall80@gmail.com (please put 'PECH Building Project' in the subject line).
